san diego's not that far. a lot of you reading are thinking "wtf koichi/kc is talkin nonsense yet again..." but to some of you, i know get it. like her. whether she likes it or not, i know she gets it. and him. we both dreamed and vowed that we'd make it in this business. someway, somehow, me n him together. and yet i realize now more than ever the value of true friendship. having been out of college for a year, things have definitely changed greatly. my closest friends, those who are like family, are now far away. and after a few days ago, more people have moved around. roommate, you're half way around the world now, and i miss you more than ever bro. i hope neta's taking care of you and that we'll be able to catch that harry potter premiere in whatever country happens to be between us at the time. masa, aniki, big bro, japan's hot as hell huh? that's why you gotta come back to the OC. we'll surf and make music =) Brett, Big B, i think you're in scotland too aren't ya? I won't be able to catch ya for a few months but man when you get back, we gotta start makin this ish happen. Charlie, love it or hate it, Vegas is home for ya now brah. stay focused and know that cali and all of us are waiting for your return. Dice, chillin in hawaii for a bit, better be sportin those pink boardshorts u bought cuz you know they be the illest. Ryo, little brother. man i hope i've been some kind of help as to gettin geared up for college. UH, you earned that on your own so be proud and enjoy it. after all, you deserve it. and to all the rest of you who've been there for me, for what it's worth, let me just take the time to say thanks. cuz sometimes, it's just the thought of you guys that make my life worthwhile.

and now onto some slightly less mushy stuff (dun worry i think i'll hit the mushiness one last time later). So i'm back in the OC. fully emracing too might i add. I have a new Mike Stewart bodyboard and bought me a fresh pair of flip flops. i've been itchin to hit up the OC music scene and tomorrow night i'll be at the Root Down in Detroit if anyone's interested in comin (21+ though sorry youngins). I'll be hittin up the Buzzz show at Crazy Horse on the 29th as well. I still do work for Yamaha as a TM covering my 5 OC stores with regularity and hopefully soon, begin incorporating my SD region stores into the routine (i hear there's a new Sam Ash store opening in La Mesa.) Also, plans for a studio are definitly in the works, with a spot in Alex's complex out in Fullerton being a top contender for the moment (shoudl be takin a look at it next week). Just added to the list, my mother won a free trip to vegas, so I'm hittin up Sin City with none other than my mom from Sun till Monday cuz my dad has an emergency meeting that got scheduled. Also, I've been playing manager/consultant for lotsa people so I think i'm esriously going to need my own friggin webpage soon and some new personal business cards for my company (we are down to like 2 name choices, almost got it picked out). Got to get some production agreements finalized next week and then the week after, meet with Tommy C and Gina H to hopefully finalize the plans to redo her demo and get Sony and Epic buzzed about pickin up the project. and that about covers the current/recent deals.

And yes though I currently am back in my old room at the ol family house, I'll be lookin to move out when the right time comes through. Long Beach and San Diego are both candidates as I'm lookin to steer clear of LA if possible. now a spot in OC  is not out of the question either, it just all needs to kinda be able to work.

and ok so back to some mushiness again. since i know at least one of you will always ask about the love life. most of you know that i'm a picky guy. so yea, it's pretty much the same. i'm still very much single. though i've got to admit i'm stupid enough to give my heart away knowing that it won't work. I pick em real well. are they taken? sure! should you even try? no! but i'll do it anyways. cuz well, that's me. like showing up at their car after their work and makin em think "you're freakin out, you're so freakin out, you just wanna run out the door" (or however the heck it goes she'll get it). either way, it was unexpected. it's one of those things you want to deny, but you realize that no matter how hard you try, you can't, and that all you can do is simply let out a heartfelt sigh and a laugh at the same time. you know i gotta admit, sometimes i think life is unfair, at least in this category of it. i never seem to win. things have been good to me in other categories though, so maybe in the long course of things it evens out. but for once, i'd like to know what it feels like to not be watching fromt the shadows. but till then, i'll continue to do so, helping out when it's needed. things could be worse. least my heart hasn't been broken in awhile. anyhow, to all of you who somehow make it this far, thanks. i hoep i get a chance to laugh with you guys again soon. till then, hope life keeps everyone smilin. i know i'll find my way. peace.

On that note, what's crackin my peoples?!?!?! Ok so i'll go from most recent back to the last few weeks. First off, thanks to Brett, Nefertiti, and Chris (i think that was ur name homie sorry i suck with names) for the bombass BBQ! Steaks, wine, fresh made guac and good company are definitely the way to enjoy a Saturday afternoon lunch. However, when your homegirl cancels on seeing HARRY FRIGGIN POTTER then life just absolutely BLOWS now DOESN'T IT?!?!?!? (i'm half hoping ur readin this susan cuz u know i'm just messin with yaw. next weekend right? w00t!) ok onto yesterday, my grandparents arrived from Japan =) It's always a treat to be able to see them, and since they're gettin rather old, I honestly don't know how many more times they can make the overseas flight. So I'm glad that they're here, and look forward to some of the trips we have planned (Nor Cal, Vegas, Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks!) Also got to see Julie and a buncha other peeps at UCLA for Kyodo's Spring Taiko Concert (which kicked ASS btw!) Now i must admit the "U-C-L-A FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!" part kinda threw me off but with the exception of that, it was great. Dice of course had everyone do Big Watermelon and we all know it doesn't get ANY better than that. But yea, ok so hehe time for a good story. Julie I don't think you read my xanga so no worries. Anyhow, yea so Julie and I try n find parking on this continent of a university that is UCLA, and we get lucky enough to grab metered parking close to De Neve. HOWEVER, the cheap bastards only give you 8 MINUTES ?!?!! per quarter. is that some bull shiznit or what people? Even USC gives you 12 minutes. None the less, Julie found a change machine and got us a lotta quarters but not quite enough, so we decided to grab food n then go. We went to puzzles since Julie said the taquitos are good, but then found out you need to be a student or have a Bruin card thingy. So then we go to get a Bruin card, and Julie insists that we put the last $5 in the general purpose slot of the card cuz we'll have a few bucks left over. This seems real sensible till it doesn't give us food for the friggin amoutn of money we put in. Long story short, Julie talked with the guys for like 30 minutes to get the damn card to work, it didn't, so they just helped us get food. And yest the taquitos weren't that bad. Fries were good (seasoned curly fries anyone??) But yea, all in all a good time. After the concert, we greeted a buncha peeps and i even ran into some extended family hehe. Gave all the girls a hug cuz that's what nice guys do right? Mariko played some dope violin hehe. Kayo was hot as usual. Sarah, as marcy kindly pointed out, "has huge boobs dude!" and of course kicked ass with Steph on their songs. Wen wen was great too and it was really great to see her (send me the friggin picture Wendy!!!!). She's super adorable. Yes i'm jealous mr. whoever her bf happens to be. And that sums up the last few days i think. Bridge, you missed out homie hehe.

So now onto the last few weeks. Umm highlights include Cory's bday with Shrek 2 (good movie), and then Koichi getting a friggin ticket for taking the ONE FRIGGIN STREET that's a no left turn one way street. Right in front of a cop of course. Yay. waiting for the notice to reach the house. So i can find out how much i owe. Not looking forward to goin to court on that one. But oh well. Got to see big O-face (aka Oscar) and saw his WB cast party pics with ppl from Everwood.

There was also SCs graduation which let me kick it one last time with Roommate, Kev, the respective fam bams, some of my music industry homies, and even Charlie dropped through. Reminded me that it's actually been a YEAR since i graduated. Sometimes I wonder if I should have stayed my senior year but eh, no worries. Everyone's got their own path to travel right? Still working for Yamaha. it's good times. Getting totally along with my stores now. Lotsa house and techno dudes at the stores. One guy even was selling white labels off a distributor and banking a pretty decent salary! Pretty crazy eh? But yea the homies at the stores are dope. Yamaha is holdin it down though i gotta admit. First DCDC hook me up with another Motif ES 7 (Ken's to be exact, don't worry mr. miyaoku i'm takin care of it), then my old boss says they're makin a new position and i can have the job if i'm up for it. Right now I'm consulting for that job and it's, well a lil slow but it's only been day one. We'll see.

Course I'd still love to make music and get paid for it. which is why i'm about to send Ryan over at Barton Holt  an email to see if they'll still need an intern.On top of that Ima be goin to Japan and hopefully seeing my dawg Joe who's managing King Records out in Japan. His new artist Miyou is kickin arse. I'm lil worried bout my homie Benny over at Digidesign, though since he's the West Coast rep he's prolly up north or cruisin Oregon or Washington. He's dope n hope to hear from ya soon home slice.

Next is this not some bombass weather we been gettin? w00t for the weather! Damn close to summer time weather. Gonna have to have a bbq to definitely get into that summer spirit. If anyone's down, definitely hit me up and we'll grill up a friggin feast yall. Anyone seen any dope shoes lately? I could use some new kicks. Could also use some new jeans. And there you go. the introduction to yet another wonderful episode of my freakshow of a life. Point number 1? I'm f*ckin sick. It's blows like none other. I mean it just sucks. Now some might be thinkin aw he's sick durin Vday weekend. Well let me tell you when you lack the V for the Day, u don't really notice. Granted the gazillions of couples plus the ridiculous amount of red white and pink and no tto mention the oh so cute couples and yea, i might get slightly blah (yes blah is a kind of wedding). But you know what? Love is supposed to find you right? So i'll just do my thang and do what i gotta till then. Thas what I got my boys, my friends, my music n this beautiful thing called life to entertain me with. Now if i could just unsick myself, damn life wouldn't be half bad. They need to make a friggin injection that'll just destroy colds in 24 horus or somethin. THAT would be ill.

So who's seen me lately? If you have u know that my hair is fliippin outta control lol. I'm about to call my hairstylist cutter person lady n see if she can hook me up. Ok wtf. The salon changed owners... and it's all weird. How inconvenient. Not amused. Blah blah blah to that. Ok well instead i'll have to counter this crappy feeling by playing some Kaskade courtesy of charlie. This is like the dopest house track i've heard in awhile. Score yet another one for Ohm.

So for those of you who haven't talked to me in awhile, I have a new apt. I live in a loft out in the Artist District of LA. It's definitely different. I do have a roommate cuz it'd be too expensive otherwise. But bottom line I'm liking it. The people here are awesome. And they're all relatively older than me, so way older, but they all look young,  and they tell me it's cuz they're doing what they love to do, whether it be contracting/building, webdesign, graphic design, etc. So that was kinda cool to hear. So I'm trying to do the same thing. It's weird that I've left the conventional 9 - 5 world to try and do my own thing. No more Universal Music Publishing Group for me. Instead I am doing a consulting project for Yamaha and am working as a Trainer Merchandiser for Yamaha. Yea yea for all those who've known me for awhile, go ahead say it. I'm still reppin the Y. And you know what? I'm damn proud of it.  On top of this, I'm totally going to start using my musical abiliies again to start making music. Whether it be on my own, or with others, I'm just wanting to do it. Frankly, I just want to see if I can make a living doing that. Man I would be stoked beyond any kind of belief. I spoke with my professor from SC (well one of em) and he said that he'd help me get my DBA filed n everything too. GOOD PEOPLE ROCK!!!

Hmmm what else? Tryin to put the studio back together. Looking at a few analog boards from Yamaha (still reppin AND what?! heh) like the M916 and the RM1608. If you don't know what these boards are, then you need to do some catchin up. Got a new Motif ES 7 delivered to my place so woohoo for that. Course it's loaned to me for a month which is shorter than usual. I think i can get it extended to like 3 months but if not I'll just buy it. Should have enough digital dollar things built up from my TM work. Speaking of which, I really need to finish the last few invoices for December and January. So my ass can get paid.

Ummm, Darlene (lady who files my invoices at Yamaha) is getting married this weekend so YAY for that! Landon (Logan's older bro) and Miko are gettin married too so a big old best of luck to all yall on that one. They do make a great couple =) And slightly off topic but my Adelphia internet connection is being really shady. Keeps goin up n down. And this is really starting to piss me off.

BUAHAHAHAHA. i just cut and pasted that whole part before this back into xanga cuz my internet screwed up. man the simple things in life. right up there with a nice breeze and laughing children. so let's see, any more things i can add? hmmm yea Stacey one-chan thinks she's gonna have a $400k condo in Playa del Rey by the end of next year. Me and C-dawg think that's damn near insane. However, me and C-dawg also concluded that if she does do this, we're gonna be some of her bestest buddies ever. None the less we love ya Stace (even though you can't bowl worth anything, least last nite =P ) Speakin of bowling, last night I bowled for the first time in what seems like forever with Stace, Cory, and Nicole. The usual girls VS guys with boba and chicken on the line. After my bombass 193 in the first game and Cory's 226 in the second game, I think we know who won. hehe. Yea me and cory are the freaks who carry our own bowling balls and shoes in the trunks of our rides heh. Then again, Nicole does too and Stacey has her own shoes  oh hey i just notice the smileys icon. Aite now ima abuse it.

UMMMMM finally, I'll be goin to Japan end of march till halfway through April. I'm super looking forward to it. I'll get to see big Joe and his record label and his artist. I'll be able to see a few familiar faces from Tsukuba (our sister city in Japan) and hopefully get to checkout the tsukuba raceway as well. I'll hopefully also get to go to Yamaha headquarters out in Hamamatsu and meet with the various guys i've met over the last few years as well as the product managers for the current project I'm working on. Kinda exciting.

And ok I'm like startin to run outta ideas so i say ima go hop in the shower, then setup my keyboards and groove for a lil heh. hope i cured some boredom. For you star crossed lovers out there, enjoy your day. For the rest of us, we'll enjoy ours as well. Peace yall.

Wassup world. See that's the influence of way too much MTV (for those of you who don't watch MTV, you won't get it). And for those who don't get where the reference is coming from period, it's because I work for a Music publisher and we have MTV and VH1 playing all the time. Anyways, guess what? I'm at work. damn straight. And what's playing in the background? You better believe it. Anyhow, yesterday I zipped out early from my office to meet up my future property manager at the loft, and dude i can tell goin to and from work is gonna be a lil more of a bitch now. LA traffic undoubtedly sucks all kinds of nasty things. However, some dude next to me was like whizzing through traffic on his motorcycle and that definitely made me raise an eyebrow. He had the friggin balls to do this in downtown LA during peak traffic hours mind you. Impressive. Equally as impressive was my driving to keep up with him IN this traffic. muhaha. i rock. But ya, the bike thing, VERY tempting. I'd prolly get owned on the streets of LA, but hey if my co-worker can pull it off, iono maybe there's somethin to be said of the plausibility of owning and riding a bike in the greater LA area. And now if I could just find a contact at Yamaha Motors. Did anyone check out the new Yamaha R1? yea. yeaaaa thas what i'm talkin bout.

Saw Last Samurai and The Lord Of the Rings Return of the King. Both kicked ass. The first made me want to take kendo and study bushido n all that great heritage oriented japanese stuff. The latter made me wish i was  part of a movie franchise that grossed a ridiculous amount of money. Speaking of money making franchises, they did now show the Harry Potter preview. Quite disappointed i was about that. And remember yall, the 4th one has Cho Chang. Uh huh. I'm waitin to see who they choose for that too.

OMG I'm gonna go insane with the psycho alpha/chron-ing. Can u believe ppl call it chroning? as in putting shit in chronological order. ugh. not cool. and since the Cry Me  A River video is playin in the back, that reminds  me, Timbaland is my new friggin idol. Granted Chad and Pharrel rock, Timbaland on the  "Making of Justin's Album" thingy just straight KILLED it. Beatboxing his beats onto tape and makin it in two takes. Just stellar stuff. And his soundshaping ability like while in the mix phase in nuts. Definitely some ill shiznit. I love it. I'll learn it. And i'll make somethin better. booya.

Granted that prolly sounded like the end of my entry, Im' just gonna keep on addin to it. It's now lunch time. Homie Jose the sandwhich dude just dropped by and hooked my ass up with a damn tasty chiken pesto sandwhich. Also told me he has a guest list for the Baby Bash Frankie J concert on the night of the 26th so if yall wanna go, lemme know. Know what else? Ain't nobody here at this friggin office yall.
